Inspection & Testing to BS7671
We provide inspection and testing of fixed electrical installations and equipment (up to and including three phase 415V ac circuits), in domestic, commercial and industrial environments, in accordance with BS 7671 2008 (Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Wiring Regulations - 17th Edition).
Periodic Inspection
All electrical installations should be inspected and tested on a regular basis. The time interval between inspections is dependant on the type of installation e.g. domestic installations may be a maximum of 10 years whilst a construction site may require inspection at 3 monthly intervals. The periodic inspection and test includes a thorough visual inspection looking at all aspects of the electrical installation together with extensive testing. We can inspect and test your installation and issue you with a 'Periodic Inspection Report' which, together with a 'Schedule of Inspections' and a 'Schedule of Tests'', will confirm that the installation is safe and 'fit for purpose' and will also identify any areas that require remedial work to satisfy the IEE regulations.
Routine Inspection
Regular inspections also need to be performed on electrical installations between Periodic Inspections, usually on an annual basis, as damage and deterioration can occur. To meet this requirement we offer a less comprehensive inspection which is limited to a visual inspection and some functional testing.
This is particularly suited for rental properties where there may be an annual change of tenant.
Visual Inspection
This is a low cost option particularly suited to potential home buyers. A visual inspection of the electrical installation is carried out to determine the age of the wiring and accessories, it's general condition and compliance with current standards. If the installation is found to be generally satisfactory, a full inspection including testing of circuits can be carried out if requested by the client.
Remedial Work
Should any problems be found, these can be costed and rectified with no additional charge for a re-test.

My surveyor told me to get the electrics checked out in our property prior to completion. Spectrum did a full survey, advised us accordingly and gave us a few options. Not as bad as we had feared. Apart from a couple of minor faults we could have left everything as was but decided to have a new fuse box fitted to bring everything up to date. A great service all round!
Excellent all round service! What more can I say?
Spectrum arrived on time, finished the job promptly and didn't need prompting to clean up after themselves. They did an excellent job.
They were polite and very tidy. The work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. Would recommend them.
They were on time, very polite and professional. They even hoovered up after their work!
