• A good pub

  The Bishop has been around for ages and the good is always good. I get very confused as often it seems to either change hands or get renovated and I've been going out in Kingston for about 12 years.Food is good during the day with a wide selection, always hot and service good.Drinks are served well, including when we asked for more challenging cocktails!In the evening this place gets busy so don't go here if thirsty cos you'll be queuing a while!

• The Bishop out of Residence

  We have eaten here about three times, both inside and outside, and have never been dissatisfied with our meal.Service is not great, but this is the only negative thing here... the food is really good quality, the ambiance is nice (except for the obligatory smoke smell - BUT it is not that bad here as they have decent ventilation systems in place).I always have a beer shandy and always love it.The last time we were there, my sister had fish and chips. Her chips were thin and puny, but her fish was succulent and hot, which made up for it though, she said.I had a lamb and mint burger. I don't often eat burgers, but felt like one, and I am glad I ordered it!The patty was very tasty and not too minty. The roll was more a wrap, which I quite liked too. There was fresh green salad with a tad of salad dressing on the side, and the chips were fat and chunky. Often, pubs have a tendancy to overload the hot chips, and here they don't, which is good.This Young's chain pub is also located in a beautiful spot, on the banks of the River Thames. So, after your meal, one can go for a lovely walk along the river, feeding the swans that gather here. It certainly is a highly recommended pub!
