Suprised by the negative comments as I have been using this company for a while for my replacement laptop screens, always found them very competitive, courteous and fast. Perhaps the comments above are justified, but they average out at one comment a year, one too many perhaps, when you get a high turnover of customers perhaps it happens like that. I personally would suggest giving them a try, just threaten them with a bad review, just in case. (Joke)
We are an IT company based in South London and we used to trade with Analogic Computers , we were buying components from them they are not very competitive in price we, everything was alright until Dec 2010 when we ordered 2 Toshiba chargers for our clients, and paid £49.98 including free delivery by credit. When we received (shipped with standard delivery no signature) the chargers they were completely different models than the ones we have ordered, so we contacted the costumer service and they gave us an RMA number to return the wrong chargers, obviously we have to pay postage £5.83 to send them back by Recorded delivery and we have asked for Credit Note and the person on the phone confirmed that we will be refunded as soon as they receive the chargers. After a few days we checked with Royal Mail and the items were received by Analogic Computers, so we called them for the refund, some one said that they will call us, anyway after more than 2 month they refunded us only £37.98 from the original price of £49.98, so they have charged us £12 for delivery, it might be small amount but this is total rip of so people be aware of these guys and this company is run by a bunch of unprofessional people
I took a MacBook to these guys to get a quote for repair for insurance purposes. I paid £60 up front for the quote. They said initially it would take a few days, then said more like a week. After 10 days I'd heard nothing, so called. They promised me the report that day, but received nothing..this went on for another 10 days. I had to call repeatedly to get then to do something simple. And then when I went to collect it they told me to wait and come back another day. Utterly useless.
My mother bought a laptop from these people for about £300 which was extremely slow when she got it home so she asked me to take a look at it as I am very competent with PC's and laptops. I tried to get it to run properly which it didn't so my mother contacted them back and they said that it was a case of RAM and for a fee they could put some more RAM in for her to which she agreed. She took the laptop back to their office only to be told that they didn't have the RAM in stock and would have to source it from Korea. My mother agreed and we waited to be told that it had arrived and been installed. Eventually the call came so we collected the laptop, got it home and turned it on, no difference whatsoever. We decided to proceed anyway and tried to connect it to our wireless network only to be told that we would have to fork out even more money for a network card as the laptop didn't have one already so again we paid the money and got the card. We installed the card and again tried to connect it to the network only to be told that the version of Windows was too old to connect to the network. We again rang the office and again were told that Windows XP could be installed on the laptop but again at a cost. We decided that we had spent enough money with this company and installed Windows XP ourselves. It worked for about 3 days, albeit very slowly, and then the laptop just died. We decided just to write it off as a bad experience but then took it to another computer company in Twickenham who said "This is a museum piece, it should never have been sold in the first place and I am extremely suprised that it even managed to run Windows XP for 3 minutes never mind 3 days" We asked them if there was anything that they could use from it i.e parts etc. but they said that it was so old that it was worthless. This company took advantage of a vunerable lady with limited knowledge of laptops and for £300 sold her something that was WORTHLESS. To say that we are angry is an understatment and are looking into taking them to the Small Claims Court to try and recoup some of our money back. To make matters worse each time we spoke to the office they were extremely rude and talked down to us like we were beneath them and didn't know anything. If you are looking to purchase a laptop or any computer accessories in the near future then I emplore you to AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! You may as well flush your money down the toilet.
I'd never heard of these guys and now I know why. I took a laptop to them for some minor servicing. Upon reaching the building it was an utter mess with renovation work happening amongst piles of seemingly, randomly dumped screens and computer parts. First they lied to me about the cost of the servicing, choosing to withhold information from me about their 'diagnostic' fee when I asked about any additional service charges. Upon collecting my laptop, which had a screen reattachment and extra cards for USBs, etc put in, I got home only to find it was unuseable thanks to an immense drop in speed, something that was in no way present before leaving it with them. Upon calling their office to discuss this problem, the management was incredibly rude and condescending, choosing not to listen and tell me over and over it was not their fault. Upon asking if they would even consider taking it back to double-check, they simply said "yes but we will charge you for it!". As a cancer patient, I simply do not have the time to chase up service this bad and as such, I am cost one £600 laptop. Do yourself a favour and wait for the recession to claim this place before going near it.
