Ark Vets Ltd

I recently decided to change my vet as I was fed up with the vets surgery I was using appearing to function more as a finely tuned business with an emphasis on immediately performing the most invasive and expensive treatments and a lack of continuity with my dog always seeing different vets and nurses resulting in making me feel as though no one there really had the long term interests of my dog at heart. It felt more like the ethos was let's make as much money out of him as we can everytime he is here with no thought of what they were putting the dog through with different procedures (no wonder pet insurance is so expensive). I found Ark Vets Ltd following an internet search for vets in my area. I called the surgery and explained that I was looking for a new vet and could they tell me about the practice. I was immediately impressed by the enthusiastic description I was given about the practice and how it had been established. It was a new practice with one vet who wanted to bring the personal touch back into caring for pets. I am a dog owner whose dog is part of my family and that sounded good to me as a visit to the vet is no different than a human visit to a GP! I was invited, along with my dog to visit the practice for a tour that day which I accepted. When I arrived I was immediately welcomed by the staff and shown around the whole surgery. I did not feel it was a sales performance or that anything was being hidden from me it was more like a genuine belief and pride in what was there and being offered to pets and their owners. The vet, Sinead Armstrong took the time to talk to me, answer any questions that I had, find out about my dog and even give him an impromptu check over when I went through some of my worries about him. She was very happy to answer questions about her own experience and talk about her own pets. I left feeling as though this vets practice really would care for my dog, his fussy owner and that the facilities and treatment on offer were first class. I have registered my dog with Ark Vets Ltd and although I have been there for only a couple of months I have been really pleased with the service and treatment my dog has received. Sinead Armstrong has way of making me feel as though my dog is the most important in the world, which he is to me. If she is like this with all of her clients - I'm sure she is, then in my view you can't ask for any more and I would definately recommed this practice to anyone looking for a vet. In terms of what the business could do better I would like to see a price list detailing the costs for the various treatments and consultations as this area is still a mystery and I am never sure what to expect each time I get my bill.
