Frank's a nice bloke, the other ladies who work there from time to time are a bit weird

A bit aggressive with the community spirit

About a year ago, I was moving into a house nearby which I was sharing with fellow students at the nearby Kingston University. I went in to buy a couple of beers and was immediately asked to sign a petition about something but declined as I was new and didn't want to rock any boat. The man behind the counter was quite persistent saying that whether I was living here for a week or 10 years that I should participate in the community. The thing is, is he mayor or something? Have petition...must sign? I bought my six-pack {changed to the cheapest} and left.
