• Customer service, what customer service...

  I took my car here and spent a lot of money. You'll initially meet Nigel, who is very friendly and helpful. If you have any problems, however, it gets referred to David the boss, who does not seem to be greatly concerned about customer service. The first taste of this was when they mis-quoted. After starting the work, BRM Coachworks claimed not to have realised that the weather stripping had to be replaced once taken off (it cannot be refitted), and I ended up having to bear extra costs. The second taste of the businessman was when the paint bubbled up 11 months after the job was done. David refused to repair it under the guarantee and, when I sought to make a complaint to the VBRA, RMIF and IAAF, I was informed by all of these organisations that BRM Coachworks is not one of their members - there's a surprise... I would not advise going here or, if you do, remember that the guarantee may turn out not to be worth the paper it is written on. I would suggest finding a bodyshop that is a member of the VBRA.

• Great customer service

  I recently needed some repair work doing on my SLK after a small incident involving an unseen bollard. The car was still drivable so they sent someone to do an estimate at my office and offered to collect it from my home when the time came. The lady in the office was really helpful and explained how everything would work and exactly what was involved, which is reassuring when you are giving over your car. The work was spotless and it is impossible to tell where there was a scratch and dent before (and I’m a perfectionist about these things). They also offered to polish out a small scratch on the drivers door at the same time. Better still they gave the car a valet inside and out before they returned it – I’m scared to get in now and make it dirty! Could not recommend them more, unlike some other places I’ve heard of.
